Gigantic acromioclavicular joint cyst: presentation and mini review

Conclusion

ACJ cysts are a rare clinical entity, mostly seen in the elderly, arising from ACJ degeneration and/or rotator cuff arthropathy. In order to proceed with the best possible treatment, physicians have first to identify the underlying pathology. Although type II cysts are much more common, it seems that both types are better managed surgically than conservatively; however, the lack of follow-up in most of the reported cases does not permit an in-depth evaluation of these 2 methods.
